Veïns de Banyoles exigeixen la represa immediata dels tocs de les campanes de Santa Maria

Veïns de Banyoles han exigit que es reprenguin “immediatament” tots els tocs de campana del campanar de l’església de Santa Maria del Turers, després que les queixes de l’amo d’uns pisos turístics hagin fet que el responsable de l’equipament religiós les aturi durant les nits. “L’opinió d’una sola persona, amb interessos econòmics al darrera, no ha de prevaldre davant la no conformitat d’un conjunt molt ampli de veïns i veïnes”, afirma l’Associació de la Placeta del Teatre i Carrers Adjacents en un comunicat. Ahir, després de conèixer-se la decisió d’aturar el campanar a les nits, entre 150 i 200 veïns van protagonitzar una cassolada reclamant la reactivació del campanar. L’entitat tampoc està d’acord amb què se n’abaixi el so.

L’associació, molesta també perquè l’Ajuntament no ha “respost a la demanda d’informació” sobre l’assumpte que se li ha fet arribar “per via administrativa”, opina que la proposta del consistori d’abaixar el so de les campanades durant la nit “dona la raó a un únic ciutadà”, i subratlla que “no ha de recaure sobre la ciutadania assumir el cost que això representarà”

Alhora, l’entitat demana a l’Ajuntament que “iniciï i acceleri” el procés per declarar les campanes “bé cultural d’interès local”, atès que, al seu parer, és la mesura que permetrà protegir-les “d’ara endavant”.

 

Finalment informa que iniciarà un “procés de debat participatiu” sobre el model de turisme que ha d’acollir la ciutat. “Tenim prou raons per reclamar que el resultat d’aquest procés resulti vinculant per a la ciutat”, indica.
