Unió de Pagesos denuncia la inacció davant la crisi dels cítrics

El sindicat Unió de Pagesos denuncia que el Ministeri i la Conselleria d’Agricultura no estan treballant “adequadament” per trobar “mesures urgents” davant la crisi dels cítrics. El sindicat lamenta que no es faci res per “minimitzar” la caiguda dels preus, ni es treballi en un cens d’explotacions, ni s’hagin engegat controls i inspeccions dels cítrics importats. També es demana suport al Departament per impulsar un canvi estructural del sector, amb finançament per a la reconversió varietal i la incorporació immediata dels cítrics als preus sectorials de referència de l’Observatori Agroalimentari de Preus. De moment, Agricultura s’ha compromès a constituir un grup de treball, el 17 de maig, on debatre tots aquests temes.

El 14 de febrer, Unió de Pagesos impulsava una plataforma reivindicativa per revertir la situació i per crear una “circumscripció econòmica dels cítrics, conjuntament amb el País Valencià”. Pel sindicat, la circumscripció pot ser una eina per revertir la crisi de preus i facilitar el finançament als joves incorporats al camp els últims cinc anys.
