7 dies, 7 etapes. L’Ultra Clean Marathon, el gran repte esportiu ambiental, presenta la seva segona edició, que se celebrarà del 5 a l’11 del maig, emmarcada en els actes organitzats arran de la iniciativa Let’s Clean Up Europe. Enguany, la cita esportiva combinarà l’atletisme, la bicicleta i el caiac en les seves diferents etapes, capitanejades pels esportistes Albert Bosch i Nicole Ribera, que repeteixen com a ambaixadors.

La fita de l’Ultra Clean Marathon és conscienciar i mobilitzar la ciutadania per reduir l’abocament de residus en espais naturals i promoure mesures de conservació del medi. Alhora, busca aconseguir que les persones que practiquen en aquests espais es comprometin a mantenir el medi ambient i promoure l’organització de competicions sostenibles. Per això, a banda de l’acció esportiva, tothom qui ho desitgi pot participar en una de les nombroses accions de neteja que hi ha previstes al llarg del recorregut. L’any passat, hi van participar més de 2.000 persones i es van recollir 1.973,5 kg de residus.

La participació ciutadana requereix inscripció, que es pot tramitar a través de la pàgina web de l’esdeveniment. Té un cost de cinc euros que es destinaran a les deu entitats de conservació de la natura que treballen a les zones per on transcorrerà l’Ultra Clean Marathon 2019. L’esdeveniment està impulsat pel departament de Territori i Sostenibilitat, la Xarxa de Custòdia del Territori, la Xarxa de Voluntariat Ambiental i l’Agència Catalana de Residus.
