La Fira de Sant Ermengol de 2018 deixa set milions a la Seu

El 2018, l’impacte econòmic de la Fira de Sant Ermengol de la Seu d’Urgell ha estat de set milions d’euros. A més a més, la despesa mitjana per persona ha augmentat en més de cinc euros, situant-se en 90,20 euros, segons es desprèn de l’estudi de l’empresa The Whatsons. El document també assenyala que la valoració del públic assistent és de 8,5 sobre 10, estant el 94% d’ells interessats a tornar-hi en pròximes edicions. Amb tot, les xifres d’aquest any són lleugerament inferiors a les de 2017, quan hi van assistir 5.000 visitants més, amb un impacte econòmic de 7,3 milions d’euros.

L’informe, elaborat a partir de mig miler d’enquestes, constata que cada euro d’inversió que destinat a la fira genera un retorn de 33,20 euros. A més, el fet que un 27% de les persones que van visitar el certamen el 2018 ho fessin per primer cop i que més d’un terç del total de públic fos provinent de la província de Barcelona indica que l’esdeveniment pot continuar creixent i, per tant, no està en una situació d’estancament, segons ha explicat Rosa Badia, de l’empresa de The Whatsons.

De fet, per perfils de visitants, a la darrera edició hi va haver un 58 per cent de dones i un 42 per cent d’homes. Per edats, el col·lectiu més nombrós va ser el de 45 a 54 anys, seguit pel de 26 a 34 anys, el que per a Badia és un bon símptoma que la fira també és atractiva per als joves. Deixant de banda a les persones procedents de Barcelona, un 21% de la Seu d’Urgell, el 17% d’Andorra i el 8% de la comarca de l’Alt Urgell. Mentre que un 9% més provenia de la resta de la província de Lleida, un 2% de la Tarragona, un altre 2% d’altres països i un 1% de la resta de l’Estat.

Segons les conclusions de l’estudi, un 83% dels gairebé 50.000 visitants de l’edició 2018 ha fet algun àpat a la Seu d’Urgell, optant gairebé la meitat pel saló dels formatges i una tercera més en bars i restaurants. Pel que fa a la despesa mitjana, que es va situar en els 90,20 euros per persona, un 60% es s’ha destinat a adquirir productes d’alimentació, un 50% a formatges i un 31% a tèxtil, entre d’altres. Cal destacar també que un 62% dels visitants consumeixen formatge cada dia i un 35% més cada setmana.

Valoració positiva dels expositors del saló del formatge

Pel que fa als 48 formatgers participants de la darrera edició de la Fira de Sant Ermengol, puntuen el certamen amb un 8,3 sobre 10 i, a més, un 91% d’ells diu que hi tornarà en un futur. Fora de l’entorn vinculat a l’esdeveniment però, un 34% de les empreses participants enquestades considera que el sector necessita de més subvencions. En aquest sentit, Badia creu que un aspecte a potenciar té a veure amb la promoció del “valor afegit” amb què compten els seus productes i la seva visualització a través de la creació d’una marca territorial.
