Protesta a la C-14 per a reivindicar el dret a un centre d’educació especial per la Maria

Sota el lema ‘La Maria necessita atenció! Al Pirineu també tenim drets’, un centenar de veïns de l’Alt Urgell ha tallat la C-14 per reivindicar el dret a un centre d’educació especial per una nena de Peramola amb un 85% de discapacitat. La Maria Orrit Mas té 9 anys i té una malaltia genètica molt minoritària que li impedeix valdre’s per si sola. La Maria Mas, la seva mare, diu que la solució seria l’internament durant tota la setmana a un centre d’educació especial. Però aquesta opció ha estat rebutjada de manera frontal per part dels serveis socials fins que la Maria no faci divuit anys, explica. Els més propers són a Andorra, Manresa o Lleida. La protesta ha generat uns 4 quilòmetres de cues en sentit Lleida i 3 en sentit la Seu d’Urgell.

Jordi Orrit, pare de la Maria, ha explicat que la seva filla requereix atenció en tot moment per part d’algú. La malaltia que pateix és minoritària fins al punt que no se’n coneix cap altre cas en tota la península i es calcula que hi podria haver tan sols un centenar de casos en tot el món.

 

Durant uns anys, la mare la duia cada dia a una escola concertada de Solsona que ofereix un programa inclusiu. Això implicava fer 120 quilòmetres diaris i no poder optar a cap feina de jornada completa. Tot plegat, mentre el departament d’Educació dictaminava que la Maria podia ser atesa a l’escola d’Oliana (Alt Urgell), que mai havia acollit un cas de discapacitat.

 

La Maria va seguir anant a escola a Solsona fins fa dos anys, quan la discapacitat ja l’allunyava massa de les possibilitats dels companys de classe i el seu grau de desenvolupament no assolia cap millora. Des de llavors, la Maria va a l’escola d’Oliana, que s’ha dotat d’una vetlladora, i monitoratge de menjador. La mare de la Maria denuncia que el decret de l’escola inclusiva aprovat el 2017 estableix que tots els alumnes poden ser escolaritzats en centres ordinaris, però a la pràctica les escoles no reben els recursos suficients per atendre infants en aquestes condicions.

 

La família ha vist que les solucions s’esgoten al mateix ritme que les possibilitats de desenvolupament de la seva filla i és aquest el motiu de la protesta: donar visibilitat a “la situació d’indefensió”, afirma la mare de la Maria.

 

Els talls han sigut intermitents cada quinze minuts durant duess hores, de les 16.00 a les 18 hores.
