L’os i els ramats. Espai de consensos?

El consens no ha existit mai ni tampoc existirà, sempre i quan no en sigui un de fals i imposat, tal com passa actualment. És impossible. Ningú que estimi els seus animals pot estar d’acord en portar-los a la muntanya sabent que l’os hi campa lliurement. Els atacs d’os, òbviament, són el problema més greu al qual hem de fer front. No podem oblidar que una simple visita d’aquests depredadors pot provocar al bestiar ensurts que canviï per sempre més el seu caràcter, fent que es torni més esquerp, desconfiat i difícil de manejar.

Des del sector ramader d’Unió de Pagesos sempre hem denunciat que la reintroducció de l’os a les nostres muntanyes ha estat forçada i s’ha fet d’esquena al territori. No van escoltar la nostra opinió abans de l’alliberament, però no ens cansarem d’exigir mesures per defensar la viabilitat i la seguretat del nostre ofici en aquest escenari en què ens han fet trobar.

Per a la tranquil·litat de tots és bàsic que puguem saber en tot moment on és l’os i evitar, així, les zones de risc. Però perquè aquesta mesura sigui vàlida calen millores, com a mínim, en dos aspectes. El primer és que ens cal que les dades de geolocalització de què disposem els ramaders siguin fiables, transparents i actualitzades, mentre que el segon passa per assegurar les infraestructures que han de fer possible aquest seguiment. Així, doncs, ens cal millorar les antenes i repetidors que tenim a les nostres muntanyes per tal de poder fer un seguiment exhaustiu tant de l’os com del nostre bestiar i, si fos possible, estudiar maneres per enregistrar les interaccions que es puguin produir per evitar especulacions o falsedats.

Però no només ens calen millores a les muntanyes, també en fan falta als despatxos, on necessitem tenir uns interlocutors clars i definits: quan ens faci falta, hem de saber qui dona la cara i pren les decisions i a qui hem de reclamar les explicacions i solucions corresponents. No pot ser que dirigir-se a les administracions acabi sent un laberint, i defensem que el maldecap d’haver de tramitar les indemnitzacions que ens pertoquen s’ha de resoldre d’una manera ràpida i sense tractes de favor.

Això també és aplicable en casos, com dèiem abans, en què les pèrdues són més difícils de quantificar com passa amb les visites de l’os que provoquen situacions d’estrès al ramat. Unes situacions que poden derivar en pèrdua de pes dels animals, descens de la taxa de fecunditat, avortaments i abandonament de superfícies pasturades, entre altres. Tot això sense deixar de banda que, per a una mare, una de les situacions més traumàtiques és patir la separació de la seva cria per culpa d’un atac o escampada. Unes escampades que, a més a més, sovint també provoquen greus lesions o la desaparició d’alguns exemplars.

Com valorar aquestes pèrdues indirectes? Hem de trobar la manera de contemplar també aquests danys, una més de les pèrdues que amenacen el nostre dia a dia i el futur dels nostres ramats.
