L’Agència Catalana de Turisme presentarà l’oferta de turisme enogastronòmic del país davant de 50 operadors australians

L’Agència Catalana de Turisme (ACT) ha estat convidada pel Consell d’Operadors Turístics Australians (Cato) per presentar davant 50 operadors australians, les particularitats de l’oferta de turisme enogastronòmic de Catalunya. Cato és l’associació comercial turística que aglutina els membres de la indústria dels viatges australiana que aposten per la comercialització també de destinacions europees, entre les quals hi ha Catalunya. “La presència en aquest tipus d’esdeveniments forma part de l’estratègia de posicionament de Catalunya per estar en la primera línia de les destinacions turístiques recordades un cop es pugui reprendre l’activitat amb normalitat i així recuperar ràpidament la demanda”, ha afirmat el director de l’ACT, David Font.

La conselleria assegura en un comunicat que “aquesta acció de posicionament culmina la tasca realitzada els darrers mesos per l’oficina de promoció turística que l’ACT té en els mercats d’Austràlia i Nova Zelanda”.

El passat mes de juliol, l’Agència Catalana de Turisme va presentar la destinació a 40 agències de viatges australianes i neozelandeses especialitzades en turisme de luxe; a l’octubre, va participar en un taller amb 30 operadors de luxe d’aquests mercats; i aquest novembre va reunir-se a la fira ILTM World Tour, amb uns 15 operadors de la xarxa Virtuoso per a conèixer de primera mà com apunta la recuperació d’aquest mercat a partir del segon semestre del 2021.

El turisme australià, primer en despesa per persona i dia
El turisme australià va significar per a la destinació catalana 168.500 visitants i més de 687 milions d’euros el 2019. Segons el Govern, es tracta d’un mercat llunyà però alhora d’alt valor ja que, que tot i representar el 0,9% de l’afluència de turisme estranger genera el 3,2% de la despesa realitzada a Catalunya. “Això és degut a la ràtio de despesa per turista i dia, que ascendeix a 509 euros, la més alta dels mercats emissors que ens visiten. En conjunt, es tracta d’un visitant que aporta punts de valor per a la destinació com l’impuls de la sostenibilitat social i econòmica, gràcies a aquest equilibri entre afluència de visitants i despesa que generen”, apunta el Departament d’Empresa.
