La campanya de l’oli Siurana 2017-2018, la segona millor de la dècada

La campanya de producció d’oli d’oliva de la DOP Siurana del 2017-2018 ha estat la segona més important dels últims deu anys amb una producció de 6,5 milions de quilos d’oli (la mitjana se situa normalment en 5,2 milions) i amb un rendiment del 19%. Així mateix, la DOP ha comercialitzat el 60% de la producció i en va exportar l’11% als Estats Units, Alemanya, Noruega, Bèlgica, Taiwan, Japó i Austràlia. Respecte la campanya d’enguany, el president de la DOP Siurana, Antoni Galceran, no n’ha avançat les dades atès que encara s’està comercialitzant el producte, però, les previsions auguren una davallada de fins al 50% de la producció per l’excés d’humitat en el període de la floració.

El president de la DOP Siurana ha valorat positivament les xifres de la campanya de producció d’oli d’oliva de l’any passat que s’han presentat aquest dijous a l’Estació Enològica de Reus. Galceran ha considerat que els resultats de la temporada passada van ser “molt bons”, atès que la climatologia va ser favorable. A la vegada, en la presentació ha remarcat, que en les principals fires que participa la DOP Siurana, la de Tarragona i Reus, es van batre rècords de venda dels seus productes.

En el cas de Tarragona, que ja ha celebrat divuit edicions, l’increment es va xifrar en el 18,61% mentre que a la de Reus, amb 22 anys d’experiència, l’augment es va situar en el 7,7%. Per tot plegat, entre els dos certàmens es van vendre 70.000 litres d’oli. Segons Galceran aquests creixements són el resultat de les campanyes de promoció i el fet que els consumidors cada vegada valoren més la qualitat.

A més, també ha explicat que les vendes creixen en els envasos més menuts, com el quart i el mig litre. Aquests envasos, segons la DOP Siurana, incorporen valor afegit al producte. Pel que fa als preus, apunten que s’han mantingut força estables. Així, la garrafa de cinc litres d’oli té un cost mitjà de 25 i 26 euros, i en alguns casos poden arribar als 28 euros.

A banda, els responsables de la DOP Siurana han destacat els tallers de formació que s’han fet, per segon any, a més de 4.000 alumnes en un centenar d’escoles de la demarcació de Tarragona i, per primera vegada a la de Barcelona. També han assenyalat les campanyes comunicatives i la renovació de la pàgina web. La regió de la DOP abasta 11.000 hectàrees de conreu i té més de 7.000 productors repartits entre 123 municipis.
