Ipcena denuncia els danys a la natura que han provocat les obres fetes al pantà de l’Arròs

Els ecologistes demanen a Acció Climàtica que inspeccioni la zona per valorar "el greu impacte ambiental" que han suposat els treballs.

Ipcena ha denunciat davant la Direcció General de Polítiques Ambientals i Medi Natural les obres dutes a terme per l’Ajuntament d’Alcarràs (Segrià) a l’entorn del pantà de l’Arròs, un espai natural i zona humida inclosa en la Xarxa Natura 2000. Segons els ecologistes, han afectat unes 4 hectàrees de l’espai natural i de l’entorn. En concret, s’han obert pistes laterals al voltant del pantà i fins a la làmina d’aigua i també s’ha eliminat vegetació perimetral natural de les basses. Ipcena emplaça Acció Climàtica a inspeccionar la zona per valorar “el greu impacte ambiental” que han suposat els treballs, i insta el Departament a obrir un expedient disciplinari i sancionador al consistori i als responsables municipals que els van autoritzar.

L’entitat ecologista assegura que “aquesta alteració tindrà conseqüències molt greus en la conservació de la biodiversitat tant per la destrucció dels habitats que conforma la vegetació perimetral que actua com a barrera natural” i, a més, l’obertura de pistes fins a l’interior de l’espai natural “facilitarà l’entrada de contaminants de depredadors i persones que afavoriran activitats d’impacte més difícils de controlar”, segons Ipcena.

Els ecologistes assenyalen que la zona humida del pantà de l’Arròs “és una de les més importants de la plana de Lleida” i “és vital per a la conservació de la biodiversitat” ja que, entre altres, acull una de les principals colònies d’arpella (Circus aeruginosus) i també hi és present el bitó comú (Botaurus stellaris), una espècie declarada en perill d’extinció en el catàleg de la fauna autòctona amenaçada de Catalunya.
