Hostalric ha de retornar quasi 319.000 euros de subvencions que va rebre per restaurar el Castell i que no va justificar

El consistori desconeix què en va fer dels diners l'anterior govern i lamenta que això limita les inversions del 2023

L’Ajuntament d’Hostalric (Selva) haurà de retornar a l’Estat gairebé 319.000 euros de subvencions que va rebre per restaurar el Castell i que no va justificar. Aquests diners formen part de les ajudes que el consistori va sol·licitar a partir del 2011 per tirar endavant la primera fase del projecte de restauració de la fortalesa. Les obres, que es van dur a terme entre els anys 2015 i 2019, van costar cap a mig milió d’euros. Però l’Ajuntament va rebre molts més diners, que no va justificar en què van gastar-se. I ara, el Ministeri d’Hisenda li reclama la diferència. La regidora d’Hisenda, Glòria Joaquim, desconeix què en va fer l’anterior govern d’aquests diners i lamenta que haver-los de retornar limitarà les inversions del 2023.

Segons informa l’Ajuntament en un comunicat, la quantitat que el consistori es veu obligat a retornar és exactament de 318.779,34 euros. Són diners que formaven part de les diferents subvencions que el consistori va demanar a partir del 2011 per executar la fase 1 del projecte de restauració del Castell.

En total, l’Ajuntament va acabar demanant 782.577,36 euros per tirar endavant la reforma, una obra que es va fer durant el quadrienni 2015-2019. El problema, però, és que la fase 1 de la rehabilitació del Castell va acabar costant, en realitat, al voltant de 500.500 euros. És a dir, menys del què s’havia demanat d’ajudes.

Ara, el Ministeri d’Hisenda ha reclamat al consistori que liquidi la subvenció atorgada i faci front a la diferència restant, perquè des d’Hostalric no es va justificar aquest sobrefinançament. En total, tenint en compte els diferents imports, l’Ajuntament ha de retornar a l’Estat 318.779,34 euros.

La regidora d’Hisenda, Glòria Joaquim, explica que l’actual consistori desconeix “quin destí” va donar l’anterior equip de govern a aquests diners que sobraven de les subvencions. “Però el que sí sabem és que no es van invertir al projecte de restauració del Castell, com així ho indica l’informe d’intervenció de l’Ajuntament”, precisa.

Limitar les inversions

La regidora afegeix, a més, que haver de retornar ara aquestes quantitats “limitarà la capacitat de l’Ajuntament per poder executar més inversions en el proper exercici”. Segons concreta el comunicat del consistori, les quantitats econòmiques obtingudes per a la fase 1 de la restauració del Castell i que no es van gastar, “actualment figuren en el tancament del compte corrent del consistori com a romanent de tresoreria”.

De moment, l’Ajuntament d’Hostalric ja ha demanat al Ministeri d’Hisenda que li permeti fraccionar el retorn dels gairebé 319.000 euros. Mentre espera que l’executiu espanyol resolgui la seva sol·licitud, l’actual equip de govern informa que estudiarà “jurídicament com reclamar responsabilitats per aquesta causa” i que es reserva el dret “a emprendre les mesures que consideri oportunes”.
