Un grup de 45 joves procedents de diferents agrupaments escoltes de Catalunya han participat en el projecte de cooperació La Murga pintant quatre habitatges i una escala d’una comunitat de veïns al barri de la Mariola de Lleida. Els treballs s’han fet conjuntament amb les famílies beneficiàries, que es troben en situació de vulnerabilitat. El projecte pretén millorar la qualitat de vida de la ciutadania i sensibilitzar el jovent sobre les causes de la pobresa en l’entorn proper. Els joves han compartit aquest dijous amb els professionals dels Serveis Socials de l’Ajuntament de Lleida un espai de reflexió en què han exposat les seves inquietuds i experiències sobre la intervenció que han portat a terme.

La Paeria, a través de la regidoria de Polítiques per als Drets de les Persones, col·labora des de l’any 2012 amb Escoltes Catalans en el projecte de La Murga, pel dret a un habitatge digne amb l’objectiu de dignificar l’habitatge de persones en risc d’exclusió social que es troben en seguiment per part del equips de Serveis Socials de l’Ajuntament. A més, pretén sensibilitzar als joves escoltes al voltant de la situació de vulnerabilitat de persones de la ciutat per conscienciar-los i aconseguir la participació activa en la societat, en l’entorn proper.

La regidoria coopera en projectes d’Escoltes Catalans, una entitat que promociona l’associacionisme educatiu, l’educació en valors, la participació d’infants i joves en la transformació i millora de la societat. Aquests i altres aspectes volen contribuir a la construcció d’un món més just en el qual tothom hi tingui cabuda. Escoltes Catalans aporten un recurs d’intervenció per treballar amb els agents locals i establir les complicitats necessàries per actuar de forma coordinada en el territori.
