El teletreball i la sobreconnectivitat digital afecta més a la salut de les dones

La sobreconnectivitat digital afecta especialment la salut de les dones que teletreballen. Així ho recull l’últim estudi de l’Observatori de Lideratge en l’Empresa de la UPF Barcelona School of Management, dirigit per Sílvia Cóppulo, que creua noves dades de l’anterior recerca “La desconnexió digital, un dret laboral imprescindible per a la salut”, posant ara el focus en els resultats referits a les dones i, concretament, les que teletreballen.

Tres de cada quatre dones (71,4%) manifesta sentir estrès i el 60,7% assegura patir fatiga digital arran de l’actual aplicació del teletreball. Els homes, per contra, addueixen estrès en un 58,1% i fatiga en un 46,3%. “La mostra de l’enquesta és paritària, la qual cosa permet arribar a la conclusió que connectivitat digital, salut i teletreball estan íntimament relacionats amb el gènere de les persones”, reflexiona Cóppulo.

“En l’àmbit emocional, dones i homes tenen posicionaments antagònics respecte a la relació entre connectivitat digital i soledat”, apunta la directora de l’Observatori de Lideratge en l’Empresa de la UPF-BSM. Una afirmació que sustenta tenint en compte que les dones que treballen majoritàriament en remot afirmen que tantes hores de connexió digital fa que se sentin soles. “Elles tenen més clar que ells que una major connectivitat digital no comporta més productivitat, assegura Erola Palau Pinyana, investigadora del Dept. d’Operacions, Tecnologia i Ciència, tot i que adverteix que aquesta sobreconnexió resulta a les dones positiva per a la seva carrera professional.

Tal com apunten ambdues coautores de la recerca, un fet interessant d’aquest posicionament és observar com, majoritàriament, són els homes els que comanden els equips i tenen responsabilitats superiors dins les organitzacions. “Elles han de demostrar que la seva feina és d’igual valor que la dels homes i, per tant, es veuen empeses a la sobreconnexió digital”, argumenta Palau, que conclou: “s’exposen a elevats nivells d’estrès i fatiga laborals que han de combinar amb la lluita per la conciliació”.
Tanmateix, com s’havia expressat en l’anterior estudi, tant dones com homes atén en un 95% els missatges de feina fora de l’horari laboral. “El treball en remot, assumit com una solució d’urgència arran de la pandèmia, ha desdibuixat els límits temporals i d’espai en relació amb la feina”, concreta Palau.
En aquest context, l’estudi promou diverses recomanacions per redreçar la situació com, per exemple, conscienciar la població i les empreses de la necessitat de descansar i desconnectar-se, promoure polítiques adreçades a modificar els horaris laborals per garantir la conciliació o establir acords entre empresa i treballadors pel que fa a la disponibilitat digital, entre altres.
