El projecte de cooperació Leader Col·laboraxPaisatge impulsa, del 23 al 29 de novembre, la Setmana de la Pedra Seca per a commemorar el 2on aniversari de la declaració de la tècnica de la pedra seca com a Patrimoni Immaterial de la Humanitat per part de la UNESCO.

El projecte ‘Col·laboraxPaisatge: Desenvolupament rural a través del paisatge i la col·laboració ciutadana’ és un projecte de cooperació Leader coordinat per l’Associació per al Desenvolupament Rural Integral de la Zona Nord-Oriental de Catalunya (ADRINOC), amb l’assessorament i suport tècnic de l’Observatori del Paisatge de Catalunya, i participat per 6 grups Leader de Catalunya, que va dirigit a la creació de desenvolupament rural a través d’elements que configuren el nostre paisatge, com les construccions de pedra seca, tot i facilitant eines i mitjans a la ciutadania per a què de forma col·laborativa promogui activitat econòmica. Aquest projecte està finançat pel Departament d’Agricultura, Ramaderia, Pesca i Alimentació (DARP), amb el cofinançament del Fons Europeu Agrícola de Desenvolupament Rural (FEADER), i en el marc del Programa de Desenvolupament Rural (PDR) de Catalunya 2014-2020.

Les construccions de pedra seca tenen un gran valor històric i estètic, i són un autèntic referent identitari en molts territoris on predominen. En aquest sentit, han configurat al llarg dels segles uns paisatges agrícoles i ramaders de gran valor dominats sobretot per l’olivera, la vinya, l’ametller, i els cereals, plenament adaptats als sòls i al clima. Els murs de pedra seca, per la seva banda, a més de formar bancals o delimitar parcel·les, constitueixen rics ecosistemes per a moltes espècies animals (insectes i invertebrats, amfibis, rèptils, petits mamífers, i algunes espècies d’aus que hi nidifiquen), i vegetals (falgueres, líquens, i molses).

Així, la Setmana de la Pedra Seca és un esdeveniment per a la promoció i posada en valor de la pedra seca com a patrimoni i com a ofici, dirigida a promoure i difondre activitats arreu dels Països Catalans per a visibilitzar l’extensa xarxa d’entitats, col·lectius, i voluntaris que treballen per al seu manteniment i divulgació.

La Setmana de la Pedra Seca se celebra en l’àmbit geogràfic dels Països Catalans, que inclou Catalunya, el País Valencià, les Balears, la Catalunya Nord, la Franja de Ponent a Aragó, la comarca del Carxe a la Regió de Múrcia, Andorra, i l’Alguer, a Sardenya.
