El Govern invertirà 1,3 milions d’euros per connectar amb fibra òptica el Baix Ebre i la Terra Alta

El conseller de Polítiques Digitals i Administració Pública, Jordi Puigneró, ha anunciat aquest dijous que la Generalitat invertirà 1,3 milions d’euros per connectar amb fibra òptica les comarques del Baix Ebre i de la Terra Alta. Aquests treballs formen part del projecte que permetrà connectar enguany les 13 capitals de comarca catalanes que falten, i fins a 51 municipis de 16 comarques al seu pas. Segons assegura el Govern, el 84% de la població de Catalunya quedarà coberta amb la xarxa de fibra òptica de la Generalitat aquest 2020. Puigneró ha visitat aquesta tarda les obres de desplegament de la fibra òptica de la Generalitat entre Tortosa, Xerta, Benifallet i Gandesa.
Segons les previsions, a finals d’agost s’hauran estès 37 quilòmetres nous de fibra òptica de la Generalitat que connectaran cinc municipis entre el Baix Ebre i la Terra Alta, aquests quilòmetres se sumaran als 76 ja existents.

Pel que fa el Baix Ebre, el 60% dels habitants disposaran d’accés a la xarxa de fibra òptica de la Generalitat a finals d’aquest estiu. La comarca passa de tenir 44.448 habitants amb accés a la xarxa a oferir accés a 5.722 nous habitants. D’aquesta manera, el Baix Ebre passa de tenir tres municipis connectats (L’Aldea, L’Ametlla de Mar i Tortosa) a tenir-ne sis en total amb la incorporació d’Aldover, Benifallet i Xerta. Amb aquest projecte també quedaran connectats dos polígons de Tortosa.

Pel que fa a la Terra Alta, el 35% del total dels habitants de la comarca disposaran aquest estiu de punt de connexió. La comarca passa de no tenir cap habitant amb accés a la xarxa de fibra òptica de la Generalitat a oferir accés a 6.729 habitants, i passa de no tenir cap municipi connectat a tenir-ne dos: Gandesa i El Pinell de Brai.
