Com gestionem l’aigua en temps de sequera

Sense que vulgui parlar de mi, permeteu-me que faci un apunt. Vaig néixer a Reus i hi vaig viure fins a l’adolescència i, com que ja tenim una edat, recordo algun estiu amb restriccions de tres hores d’aigua al dia, el llarg que es feia i el complicat que era si no tenies banyera i el pis era molt petit. Dit això, ara estem molt millor, com a mínim per afrontar situacions de sequera com la que estem vivint.

En aquell moment, per a la pagesia segurament ja era molt difícil fer front a sequeres; per això, i amb molt bon criteri, amb els anys, el camp i les ciutats s’han preparat per situacions adverses, però quan venen no són mai neutres. Ara visc al Priorat i fa més de 35 anys que faig de pagès, productor d’oli, i intento mirar la situació amb perspectiva de “no afectat”.

Quan vàrem rebre la noticia que la Agencia Catalana de l’Aigua presentava un pla d’inversions al Camp de Tarragona per reaprofitar l’aigua de la depuradora de Reus, per regar els camps amb 2,5 hectòmetres aproximadament, i per tant, alliberar aigua de l’envasament de Siurana i poder-la utilitzar per fer un reg al Priorat, reforçant també les necessitats hídriques dels pobles, em va semblar una excel·lent notícia perquè tothom en sortia beneficiat.

 

L’experiència demostra que tot necessita temps, també per fer necessària una entesa entre totes les parts, i és cert que ara tenim una realitat complexa, però la situació no és com en els temps en què calia tancar l’aixeta; tenim una servitud d’aigua que, amb generositat, un territori va cedir a un altre que és al Consorci d’Aigües de Tarragona; per tant, la ciutadania no ha de patir restriccions. S’han fet millores en les necessitats hídriques a la indústria i segurament en caldran més. Això ha comportat una recuperació de l’aqüífer del Camp de Tarragona que cal que tingui continuïtat. La pagesia ha fet inversions importants per utilitzar menys aigua. No en gasta si no que utilitza la que després recarregarà els aqüífers, formant una baula més del cicle; per això, és important que es portin a terme les inversions, per poder reutilitzar les aigües. També cal que els ajuntaments que tots sabem que en situacions complicades han estat generosos amb la pagesia ho tornin a ser i cedeixin per a una bona entesa que beneficiï tothom.
