La superfície de producció ecològica s’ha multiplicat per 42 des de 1995. El
Consell Català de la Producció ecològica (CCPAE) ha celebrat els seus 25 anys amb una roda de premsa on ha fet balanç del sector i de la seva trajectòria. Segons les dades presentades, aquest tipus de producció passa per un moment especialment bo a Catalunya: no només s’han assolit les 210.000 hectàrees cultivades, sinó que el nombre de productors ha augmentat des dels 236, l’any 1995, fins a 3.859, el 2018.

La consellera d’Agricultura, Ramaderia, Pesca i Alimentació, Teresa Jordà, ha qualificat les xifres com una “molt bona notícia”. Per Jordà, demostren l’existència d’un canvi d’hàbits i l’increment de la preocupació per la qualitat dels aliments que produïm i consumim.

Promocionant el sector

La consellera també ha aprofitat l’esdeveniment per anunciar noves accions per impulsar el creixement del sector. Entre elles, la posada en marxa d’una nova onada del Baròmetre de Percepció i Consum dels aliments ecològics i la convocatòria d’ajuts a l’agricultura i la ramaderia ecològiques per valor de 13 milions d’euros. Finalment, s’ha avançat que aquest any la Setmana Bio per l’alimentació ecològica tindrà lloc del 19 al 27 d’octubre.
