La Costa Brava viurà una veda biològica de dos mesos per permetre la regeneració dels caladors de peix

Les setze embarcacions d’encerclament de la Costa Brava començaran aquest dimecres una veda biològica que per primer cop després de molts anys s’allargarà dos mesos (en comptes d’un com fins ara). L’objectiu és permetre que els caladors de peix blau es regenerin. Durant tot aquest temps, els pescadors rebran ajudes europees. El president de l’Associació d’Encerclament de la demarcació, Carmelo Martínez, explica que s’ha decidit ampliar l’aturada biològica a 60 dies perquè aquesta és la tendència que se segueix en altres ports del Mediterrani. “Fins i tot, en un futur ja es planteja allargar-la més”, concreta. A la Costa Brava, la flota d’encerclament es reparteix entre Roses, l’Escala, Palamós, Sant Feliu de Guíxols i Blanes.

Aquest dimarts a la nit ha estat l’últim cop que la flota d’encerclament de la Costa Brava va sortir a pescar abans de parar els motors durant dos mesos. L’aturada biològica, que s’allargarà fins al 10 de gener, es fa per afavorir la regeneració dels caladors de peix blau.

 

El president de l’associació, que també és patró major de la confraria de Sant Feliu de Guíxols, explica que fa uns anys es va decidir reduir la veda a un mes perquè “era una època de molta embarcació nova, i econòmicament parlant, no ens podíem permetre estar tant temps aturats”. Ara, però, aquest 2022 es torna als 60 dies d’aturada. “Amb el nou pla de gestió del Mediterrani hem tingut més contacte amb la resta de ports, i veiem que la tendència general és fer dos mesos de veda; fins i tot, en un futur, ja s’està parlant d’allargar-la més”, concreta Carmelo Martínez.

 

Durant el temps que la flota d’encerclament de la Costa Brava estigui aturada, els pescadors rebran ajudes europees.
