La verema de la DO Terra Alta ha estat menor del que s’esperava amb 39 milions de quilos de raïm

La Denominació d’Origen Terra Alta tanca la seva verema amb una producció de més de 39 milions de quilos de raïm, lleugerament per sota de les previsions inicials però en la mitjana de la DO.

La DO Terra Alta qualifica de gran qualitat aquesta verema 2022, resultat de l’excepcional estat fitosanitari de les vinyes, que s’han vist afavorides per les condicions climàtiques. Les pluges de la primavera van ajudar al desenvolupament vegetatiu de les plantes i a una brotació regular, a més de garantir unes bones reserves hídriques per afrontar les altes temperatures d’aquest estiu.  

 

Un increment de les temperatures que es va viure al territori ja des dels mesos de maig i juny, que va accelerar les fases de desenvolupament del cultiu, va ser el motiu pel qual la verema s’ha vist avançada uns 10 dies aproximadament respecte a la campanya anterior.  

 

Pel que fa a les varietats, cal destacar l’excel·lent producció de garnatxa blanca, emblema de la DO Terra Alta. Amb 12 milions de quilos, representa gairebé el 30% de la producció total i un 56% de les varietats blanques.  

 

Entre les varietats negres destaquen també les garnatxes: negra, peluda i tintorera sumen més de 11 milions de quilos i representen un 59% de la producció total de varietats negres. Menció especial mereix el morenillo que, malgrat que continua sent una varietat minoritària, amb poc més de 50.000 quilos collits, en aquesta campanya experimenta un increment del 20% respecte a l’any passat. Un clar indicador que any rere any, creix el nombre d’hectàrees dedicades al cultiu d’aquesta varietat autòctona.

 

Controls de producció 

Un any més, des de la DO Terra Alta s’han portat a terme controls de producció a la vinya, tant qualitatius com quantitatius per assegurar el compliment dels potencials màxims admesos per la DO Terra Alta. L’objectiu d’aquests controls és certificar que tot el vi que es qualifica com a DO Terra Alta prové de les vinyes de la DO, vetllant així per la traçabilitat i el valor afegit dels vins, al mateix temps que es garanteix el desenvolupament sostenible de la zona de producció i la supervivència dels viticultors, viticultores i cellers.
