Els arqueòlegs començant els treballs a la vora occidental de l'estany

L’equip d’arqueòlegs del jaciment neolític de La Draga de Banyoles han començat aquesta setmana les prospeccions a la vora occidental de l’estany, a Porqueres. L’actuació es farà en tres fases i té com a objectiu ajudar a reconstruir l’evolució paleoambiental i geomorfològica de l’espai i documentar les dinàmiques del seu poblament prehistòric. I és que la conca lacustre de l’estany ofereix la possibilitat de realitzar treballs interdisciplinaris integrant dades arqueològiques i paleoecològiques perquè l’espai té un registre sedimentari excepcional pel Quaternari recent.

Els primers treballs que han començat aquesta setmana s’han fet als camps de Can Cisó i Can Morgat, continuant amb uns sondejos que ja es van fer fa una dècada per reconstruir l’evolució dels marges de l’estany durant els últims mil·lennis.

 

La prospecció es farà en tres fases: sondejos paleoecològics per a caracteritzar l’estratigrafia i la geomorfologia de l’àrea; prospecció electromagnètica; i comprovació dels resultats de la prospecció electromagnètica, mitjançant sondejos arqueològics.

 

L’investigador de l’Institut Català de Paleontologia Humana i Evolució Social (IPHES), Jordi Revelles, explica que gràcies als sondejos que es van fer fa un anys, se sap que a la zona de Can Sisó i Can Morgat cap al Neolitic i de forma contemporània a La Draga, hi havia uns aiguamolls. ” I, a través de diferents estudis, vam poder reconstruir com durant el Neolític final, fa uns 4.700 anys, aquí hi havia un bosc de ribera i vam evidenciar uns nivells d’incendis i de cultius de cereals que ens fa pensar que a prop d’aquests camps hi havia un assentament del Neolític final”, detalla.
