La DOQ Priorat comença la verema més aviat del normal, afectada per les incidències climàtiques

La climatologia registrada durant dels mesos de maig, juny, juliol i agost ha provocat que la collita de la verema a les viles de la DOQ Priorat s’hagi avançat. La recol·lecció ha començat amb les varietats més primerenques, tot i que de manera molt desigual en el conjunt del territori de la DO.

Els efectes del canvi climàtic són cada dia més evidents en el cultiu de la vinya. En aquest sentit “cal destacar que en els darrers tres anys la producció s’ha vist afectada per les incidències climàtiques, que han afectat especialment la quantitat de la producció. Enguany, l’increment de les temperatures i la irregularitat en les pluges han provocat un desequilibri hídric que ha condicionat el desenvolupament de les vinyes, la maduració dels raïms i, en conseqüència, l’inici de la collita, que ha afectat de manera desigual a les diferents varietats”, ha explicat el president del Consell Regulador de la DOQ Priorat, Salus Àlvarez. Amb tot “l’evolució climatològica dels propers dies serà clau per definir els nivells de maduració de la totalitat de les varietats i la prolongació de la campanya” ha destacat Salus Àlvarez.

 

Si bé l’escassetat de pluges i les altes temperatures registrades els mesos de juliol i agost han provocat un avançament de la verema, l’escassetat d’humitat ha permès que l’estat sanitari de les vinyes i els raïms sigui molt bo. Per aquest motiu “la previsió de collita, pel que fa a la qualitat, és molt bona. En canvi, els efectes climatològics sí que provocaran que la collita sigui inferior a la registrada l’any passat, situant-nos al voltant dels sis milions de quilos de raïm”, ha apuntat Salus Àlvarez.

 

Aquesta collita, el nombre d’hectàrees en producció a les viles de la DOQ Priorat arribarà a les 2.100 hectàrees, que són cultivades per gairebé cinc-centes viticultores i viticultors. La temporada, a més, arrenca amb tres nous cellers que podran produir vins en el marc de la única Denominació d’Origen Qualificada del país.
