El sector de l’arròs veu les mesures agroalimentaries inviables

El sector arrosser de la Federació de Cooperatives Agràries de Catalunya i el d’Unió de Pagesos i Prodelta es mostren preocupats per la proposta de compromisos agroambientals en el cultiu de l’arròs a Catalunya i les primes compensatòries de sobrecostos que la Secretaria d’Agenda Rural del Departament d’Acció Climàtica, Alimentació i Agenda Rural (DACC) ha transmès al sector per al nou període de programació.

En definitiva, les primeres compensatòries que ha proposat el DACC no cobreixen ni de bon tros els sobrecostos econòmics que generen a les explotacions i posen en qüestió el futur d’aquestes mesures que es duen a terme en el cultiu de l’arròs des de fa més de 20 anys.

Les mesures agroambientals de l’arròs han revertit en efectes molt positius per al territori i els ecosistemes d’alt valor natural d’influència als arrossars. Per tant, cal alertar que si aquestes mesures no compensen els sobrecostos que generen, es perdrien una sèrie d’actuacions beneficioses per al medi ambient i el clima que van un pas més enllà dels requeriments normatius, i que milloren substancialment la qualitat de les aigües a la vegada que promouen el control mecànic de males herbes més enllà dels arrossars, entre d’altres.

D’altra banda, el sector també es lamenta per la diferència entre el suport que es dona a aquestes actuacions entre Catalunya i altres comunitats autònomes com el País Valencià.

Les organitzacions signants d’aquesta nota de premsa han presentat esmenes a la Secretaria d’Agenda Rural mentre esperen rebre resposta immediata per part de la Conselleria abans que sigui massa tard i alerten que les demandes i reptes del futur en matèria d’acció climàtica han de rebre el suport adequat de les administracions perquè les actuacions siguin viables.
