Glòria Roig, enginyera agrònoma i pagesa d’una plantació de tarongina per a infusions.

Glòria Roig és una enginyera agrònoma i pagesa de Lluçà que té una plantació de tarongina per a infusions. Mare de tres filles, ha decidit adaptar el model de negoci per poder compaginar-ho amb la vida familiar. “Aquesta feina no és per fer-me rica, sinó donar qualitat de vida a les nenes”, explica. Prové d’una família de pastissers de Barcelona, però va tenir clar que volia treballar al camp i va formar-se. Un dels seus principals reptes és “saber gestionar els fracassos” pel fet de dependre de la natura i admet que desconeixia que el 15 d’octubre se celebra el Dia Internacional de la Dona Rural. “Està molt bé perquè cal reivindicar-ho més”, remarca tot dient que la dona hi ha sigut sempre però està “invisibilitzada”.

La jornada laboral de Glòria Roig ha començat després de portar les nenes a l’escola. Aquest matí s’ha dedicat a comprovar la collita de la tarongina, que ja està a punt de tallar. És el principal cultiu que té i, per poder compaginar-ho amb els horaris familiars, va decidir fer només una part del procés d’elaboració d’infusions, com és cultivar, assecar i, per últim, vendre a un majorista. També ha començat a cultivar llúpol, ingredient bàsic per a l’elaboració de cervesa.

 

Filla d’una família de pastissers de Barcelona, tenia clar que volia treballar a la natura i va estudiar Enginyeria Agrària on va formar-se a Barcelona i Lleida. Durant uns anys va treballar de tècnica. Però de forma sobtada la van acomiadar, juntament amb la resta de companys. En aquell moment estava embarassada i no trobava cap feina. “Estava formada i m’haurien agafat però no ho feien perquè estava embarassada”, detalla. Explica que aquest és un dels casos més flagrants de desigualtat per ser dona que ha viscut en primera persona. I va ser aquí quan, amb l’ajuda de la família, van decidir que era el moment de posar en marxa el seu negoci.

 

Malgrat tot, creu que s’ha avançat força amb la igualtat entre homes i dones respecte les anteriors generacions i que cal seguir fent passes fins assolir-ho de ple. “Quan em veuen dalt del tractor a alguns els sorprèn però amb positiu, no perquè pensin que no puc dur-lo”, explica. Assegura que quan va venir a viure amb la seva família a Lluçà van tenir una bona acollida i es mostra agraïda pel que ha après dels seus veïns, que també li han ensenyat a treballar a la zona.

 

Falta visibilitzar més la dona rural

 

Com a pagesa, desconeixia que precisament aquest divendres se celebra el Dia Internacional de la Dona Rural. “No en tenia ni idea; està molt bé perquè cal reivindicar-ho més”, afirma, i afegeix que la dona ha estat sempre treballant al món rural, però encara està molt “invisibilitzada”. Roig és membre de l’Associació de Dones del Món Rural. Està formada sobretot per ramaderes i pageses de diferents punts de Catalunya i es treballa per defensar els seus interessos i necessitats, crear sinergies i millorar la igualtat d’oportunitats del sector.
