Menús de proximitat en un 10% de les escoles de Barcelona.

Aquest nou curs 2021-2022, un 10% dels centres educatius de Barcelona incorporen menús amb aliments i productes de temporada i de proximitat, menys carn vermella i més proteina vegetal en el seu servei de menjador. Es tracta d’aproximadament unes quaranta escoles i instituts, de totes les modalitats: públics, concertats i privats, que han decidit participar de forma voluntària al projecte “Menjadors escolars més sans i sostenibles”, projecte impulsat per l’Ajuntament de Barcelona i supervisat per l’Agència de Salut Pública de Barcelona (ASPB). El projecte va començar com una prova pilot en sis escoles l’any 2020 amb la voluntat d’arribar al màxim de centres educatius d’infantil, primària i secundària el curs 2021-2022. Aquesta iniciativa també compta amb la col·laboració del Consorci d’Educació de Barcelona (CEB).

A les 103 Escoles Bressol Municipals (EBM) ja s’ofereixen menús seguint els criteris de l’ASPB amb més producte ecològic, de proximitat i amb més presència de proteïna vegetal.

El 80% d’infants no menja prou verdura o fruita

 

Gemma Tarafa, la regidora de Salut, ha declarat davant dels mitjans que el 80% dels infants i adolescents no menjen suficients fruites i hortalisses, i que el consum de brioixeria és cada cop major. Més concretament, el 78% dels infants de 3 i 4 anys i el 42% dels adolescents de 13 a 19 anys fan un consum excessiu de carn, el 80% dels adolescents prenen refrescs per sobre de la freqüència recomanada i el 43% dels infants de 8 i 9 anys prenen massa brioxeria. Tot plegat té una altra derivada, com és que al voltant del 13% dels infants de 8 i 9 anys pateixen obesitat.

 

Per aquest motiu des de l’any passat que està en marxa el programa de menús saludables i de proximitat en sis escoles de Barcelona. En aquestes escoles s’ofereixen menús més equilibrats, creats i implementats amb l’ajuda de l’ASPB, i ara ja són una quarantena les escoles i instituts que s’han apuntat al programa aquest curs escolar.

“És un procés obert que anirà creixent”, ha indicat Tarafa, que confia que més escoles i instituts s’hi vagin sumant per arribar al màxim de centres educatius. “L’important és que hi guanyi la salut de l’infant”, ha afegit.

Avaluació de l’ASPB

Segons l’avaluació inicial de les escoles participants en el programa per part de l’ASPB, el 67% dels menjadors no oferia cap proposta de segon plat amb proteïna vegetal durant la setmana o calia reduir l’ús d’aliments precuinats, augmentar l’ús d’oli d’oliva o promocionar els aliments de producció ecològica, de proximitat i frescos, així com incrementar la presència de productes de temporada.

Un cop implementat el programa, l’ASPB ha detectat que s’aconsegueixen instaurar racions setmanals adequades de peix, ous, carn i proteïna vegetal, s’utilitza l’oli d’oliva per fregir, augmenta la fruita a les postres, apareix el pa i la pasta integral, es redueix l’ús de congelats i hi ha un increment de la verdura i la fruita de proximitat i temporada.
